Correspondence between the director and former director of the National Gallery, Denmark, Walter Halvorsen and Jørn Rubow, respectively, in which a controversy from the 1950s and 1960s is denied. It was rumoured that the director at the time, Leo Swane, had the opportunity to acquire Guernica and never took it. In the letters, there is clarification that the claims were false and one of the letters was even published in the newspaper Berlingske Tidende, at the request of Jørn Rubow, to settle the issue.
