Dalí announcing his lecture Picasso and I in Teatro María Guerrero, Madrid

The lecture was organised by the Institute of Hispanic Culture and was personally directed by Manuel Fraga Iribarne, who appears to the right of the artist, as an act of cultural propaganda by the dictatorship. For the event, Dalí invited Picasso to return to Spain despite his Communist ties.
