An anthology of articles and catalogue texts, which takes a critique-based approach to the figure of Pablo Picasso, published in two volumes. The second surveys the controversies and political and artistic debates surrounding Picasso's affiliation with the French Communist Party and his close collaboration with it during a strained post-war and Cold War period (1944–1956). It looks at memory and how this political position never conditioned his artistic language, without forgetting Guernica's role on the political stage at this time.
