Juan Larrea, Spanish poet and essayist, writes to Alfred H. Barr Jr., director of the Collections Department at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, telling him that the interpretation of Guernica in his essay is a response to the study of the painting and its sketches in relation to Minotauromachy and The Dream and Lie of Franco, the only evidence he had at his disposal.
