Known as the ‘Peers Commission and Report’, after the name of its lead investigator Lieutenant General William Ray Peers, this was the US Army’s internal “investigation of facts and circumstances surrounding the original Army investigation of incidents which occurred during the period March 16–19, 1968, in Son My (My Lai) Village, Quang Ngai Province, Republic of Vietnam”. It confirmed that there had been deliberate efforts to conceal, withhold and supress information about the My Lai Massacre (See “Summary of Findings”, chapter 2, section E, vol. I: 12–3).
