The Travels of Guernica
This publication examines the different contexts in which Guernica has been exhibited since its creation, exploring a range of questions, perspectives and fields of study. It also provides, for the first time, a detailed account of the theoretical and practical framework developed by the Museo Reina Sofía since 2008 around the mural. This open-ended, continuously evolving undertaking also encompasses other constellations of works, agents and relationships within the Collection. Its most visible outcomes are the different locations and contexts in which the painting has been displayed in the Museum’s galleries.
The publication features contributions by: Manuel Borja-Villel, Ignacio Echevarría, Francis Frascina, Juan José Gómez Gutiérrez, José-Ramón López García, Rosario Peiró and Rocío Robles Tardío.
