Alfred H. Barr Jr.'s letter to Daniel-Henry Kahnweiler, dated 14 April 1967
Daniel-Henry Kahnweiler was Pablo Picasso’s exclusive dealer during his Cubist period and remained a life-long confidant. The letter MoMA director of Collections Alfred H. Barr Jr. sent to him was an attempt to subvert the petition Angry Arts sent to Picasso to remove Guernica from the New York museum in protest over the Vietnam War.
