William Rubin, director of the Department of Painting and Sculpture at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, informs the Spanish ambassador in France, Rafael Fernández Quintanilla, that Pablo Picasso wanted Guernica to be installed in the Museo del Prado without being on display in any other place on its way to Madrid.
