Heresies Collective

The Heresies Collective was founded in New York in 1976 by women artists, writers and activists advocating feminist socialism. Many had been members of groups such as the Art Workers’ Coalition (AWC), Ad Hoc Women Artists’ Committee and Women Artists in Revolution (W.A.R.). The collective published Heresies: A Feminist Publication on Art and Politics from 1977 to 1992.
